A one-of-a-kind wine, our Judge’s Reserve is a spectacle of fruit, herbs and umami that delights from nose to palate to finish.
Starting off with a melody of dried red flowers, dark cherries, cassis and herbal undertones – this wine will continue to impress with juicy currants, boysenberry and mandarin with hints of umami on the mid-palate. Lingering sensations with a touch of cacao, nutmeg and clove.
Nutty desserts, dark chocolate, game meats with a berry sauce, roasted root vegetables, unagi, and teriyaki.
All of our wines are named in memory of Judge Marlo. As this wine is one-of-a-kind we’ve named this wine Judge’s Reserve.
John Benedetti was the winemaker for this excellent Pinot Noir.
Straddling the Summit and Soquel Hills at 1,600ft in the Santa Cruz Mountains, cultivated fruit from DaLarDi Vineyard embodies similar characteristics to the popular Split Rail Vineyard of the same appellation. With vines planted in 2013, a youthful DaLarDi sits above the coastal fog belt, along with oak and madrone that line the vineyard. This location was carefully selected because its terroir produces classic Santa Cruz Mountain Pinot Noir fruit and is the “young cousin” to Split Rail Vineyards further South.
