Name

Our wines are named after courtroom jargon to honor Judge Marlo’s career in the judicial system. Blanc Seign (typically Blanc Seing) means ‘signed blank paper’, representing trust between two parties.

Winemaker

Rob Bergstrom, a former scientist, management consultant, and technology executive, is now a fantastic winemaker. Rob strives to tell the story of the Santa Cruz Mountains and its unique vineyard sites through transparently made wines, and in particular showcase Chardonnay which he believes captures the essence of the terroirs and through its many expressions paints a picture that helps us to interpret such a rugged, complex, and endlessly beautiful place.

Grapes were harvested early in the morning to ensure they were cold when they arrived at the winery and were gently pressed in a horizontal bladder press. After cold settling, the juice was racked off the heavy lees and was fermented at 55F in stainless steel tanks. Malolactic Fermentation was blocked to maintain the wine’s clean and refreshing texture.

Vineyard

The Triolo Vineyard lies in the Santa Clara Valley at the foot of the Santa Cruz Mountains. Located on Hecker Pass at ~600 elevation, warm days and cool nights create ideal conditions for crisp refreshing white wines like Sauvignon Blanc.
